THE CONSTITUTION OF CROATIA
The Croatian Constitution is a unique general legal act of the highest legal force in the Republic of Croatia which contains an overwhelming number of constitutional norms. Brought by the Croatian Parliament on 22 December 1990, it is called the Christmas Constitution. It contains 147 articles in nine parts, and is therefore one of the shortest of the European Constitutions. The Historical Foundations of the Croatian Constitution state that the Republic of Croatia is established as the national state of the Croatian people and the state of national minorities: Serbs, Czechs, Slovaks, Italians, Hungarians, Jews, Germans, Austrians, Ukrainians, Russians, Bosnians, Slovenes, Montenegrins, Macedonians, Russians, Bulgarians, Poles, Roma, Romanians, Turks, Vlachs, Albanians and others, who are its citizens, who are guaranteed equality with the citizens of Croatian nationality and the realization of national rights in accordance with the democratic norms of the United Nations and the countries of the free world.

 

THE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW OF CROATIA
National minorities, in terms of the Constitutional Law on National Minorities, are groups of Croatian citizens whose members are traditionally settled on the Croatian territory, and who have ethnic, linguistic and / or religious characteristics different from other citizens and who wish to preserve these characteristics. In order to improve the implementation of the Constitutional Law in June 2008, Croatia adopted the Action Plan for the implementation of the Constitutional Law on National Minorities.
