Description of the situation

In Croatia there are several Roma cultural associations and institutions that seek to improve educational opportunities for Roma children, as well as intercultural education for all pupils in Croatia, in order to gradually reduce the stereotypes towards the Roma, increase the level of the acceptance of the elements of Roma culture (language, art, history, customs) and reduce social distance. Roma associations organize various summer schools for Roma children, publish journals (eg. Romano akharipe - Voice of Roma, Nevo Drom - A new start), encourage the participation of Roma cultural associations in cultural events, and such.
