Their bad health situation is affected by the existing social and economic conditions, such as inadequate living environment and poor social networks. The lack of education and the unemployment of the Roma are also key factors associated with an unhealthy lifestyle of the population.

Description of the situation

The Roma population is one of the socially endangered groups of population or a group with an increased health risk. Socio-economic factors (residential environment, social networks, education, employment) and the factors related to the healthy lifestyle (smoking, drug consumption, unhealthy diet, physical activity) have an impact on the health determinants.
