Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
The Ecodrom project-carried out by the Ecodrom 93 association-implements activities which promote social diversity, environmental protection, urban farming and support the economic activity of the French town of Montreuil.
This project involves people with a farming experience-Roma people from Romania who at some point have been farmers and relies on the existence of a fallow city field.
Results of the project
Make the city go rural:
-To create an experimental farming space in town using the best environmental techniques
-Involve the inhabitants of Montreuil in the development of this space through transfer of skills and expériences between users
Objectives of the project:
-To promote Roma people's capacities to adapt themselves to a urban environment, using environmental resources
-To promote Roma people's skills and knowledge in farming, plants and harvesting
-To allow exchanges of know-how
-To integrate willing Roma people to the social and economic development of the local area through the farming projects of Ecodrom.
-To fight against the social and economic marginalization of Roma people

Sources of funding
There is no funding, only a system of exchanges and bartering has been put into place.
The association has however a renewable three-year lease agreementwith the town of Montreuil to use the field.
Yet, numerous local structures support the initiative: schools, municipal services, shelter centers :Handicap – MAS – foyers ,beneficiaries of Mous ,S.F.M. Montreuil, Alexandre Romanès, Tony Gatlif and the associations of "Coup de main" and "Terne Roma".
