Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
Overall aims of the project:
- to promote and expand the REYN Slovenia network (S/REYN) throughout the national level,
- through awareness campaign on importance of inclusion of Romani and migrant children into quality preschool programmes, to strive for access and inclusion into quality preschool programs in the areas, where the majority of Romani and migrant families live,
- to provide opportunities for professional development of S/REYN members, educators and language assistants through training on Capacity building for strengthening the intercultural dialogue and for developing stimulative multilingual and multicultural learning environment,
- to inform members of S/REYN, educators, language assistants and other stakeholders about current events in the context of national and international REYN network,
- to educate and include language assistants in the educational process,
- to provide supportive emotional, learning and organizational interaction for children from 0-6 years, with special emphasis on 0-3 group,
- to support child’s language development and development of children’s pre-literacy skills for bilingual, multilingual children, with Roma and migrant’s background,
- to raise competences of preschool teachers for developing multilingual, multicultural and inclusive learning environment in preschools, in order to help children develop language and pre-literacy skills,
- to raise quality of practice in groups where Romani and migrant children are included, with the goal of developing their language and pre-literacy skills,
- to raise enrolment rate of Romani and migrant children in ECEC,
- to promote regular contacts among preschools, local, Romani and/or migrant communities,
- to influence educational policy in the context of the preparation of a new National Roma Integration Strategy for the period 2016-2021.
