Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
The project involves the professional training of professional and managerial staff in educational institutions in Slovenia (kindergartens, elementary schools, boarding schools, institutions for adult education). It is designed for educators, teachers and other professionals who deal professionally with Roma children and adults. Within the project there was also the training of Roma assistants.

Educational programmes include the following topics:
- integration of Roma children in pre-school education in kindergartens,
- integration of the Roma language and culture in implementing - the curriculum and informing Roma children with the Slovenian language and culture,
- helping Roma children for successful schooling,
- cooperation between the Roma community and the school.

Every educational programme for teachers and Roma assistants includes 7 days of education, namely teaching 8 hours a day. Training days are carried out in three phases: in the first stage a three-day, in the 2nd and 3rd stage a two-day training. After each stage of education, intermediate activities that enable learners practical testing of the acquired knowledge and reflection and exchange of experience, take place.

Results of the project
Training was organized for 26 groups of participants in the geographical area of Štajerska, Prekmurje, Dolenjska and Bela Krajina.

The training programme for Roma assistants included 24 Roma assistants. Education is organized in two groups: one implementation of the programme for Roma assistants in Prekmurje and one execution in the field of Dolenjska and Bela Krajina.

Every educational programme for teachers and Roma assistants included 7 days of education, namely 8 teaching hours per day, which means 56 teaching hours for each programme. Training was conducted in three phases, in the first phase a three-day training, phase 2 a two-day training and phase 3 also a two-day training. After each stage of education there were ongoing mid-term activities that enable learners practical testing of the acquired knowledge and reflection and exchange of experience.
Upon successful completion of each stage of training, the participants got a certificate of completion of the programme.

Who will benefit from this project (target group)
650 professional and managerial staff of kindergartens, schools, boarding schools and educational organizations for adults chose among 14 different educational programmes conducted by lecturers with a track record in the field of Roma integration in education.

The training programme for Roma assistants has included 24 Roma assistants.
