Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
To increase the level of performance at school of the Roma children.
To work for Desegregated education.
To change of the attitudes for the importance of the education.
To provide conditions for social integration for students and their parents.
To reduce the number of the early school leavers.
To provided additional classes to the Roma students and to increase their knowledge of Bulgarian language in order to have equal start with the rest of the students.
Results of the project
Improved communication with the parents by involving them in the project activities.
100 % of the students passed on the next school grade as 24 % with increased success.
Improved skills of the teachers how to work in multicultural environment.
Established communication with the parents of Roma students via community based activities such as: parent meetings, working through mediators from the community visits and regular consultation of teachers, involving parents in the cultural program. Particular attention is paid to the problem, individual cases and their family context, and common events (where possible) for joint festive events between the neighborhoods.
