Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
The New Camera is a participatory short film project. It brings about a discussion on the self-representation of minorities.
Here is the synopsis: a young film student is starting to shoot in a shanty town until a child from the Roma community takes his camera and starts filming him. Once he gets the camera back, he notices the difference between his images and the ones taken by the young boy that is to say the difference between the representation and self-representation.

Results of the project
Roma people convey their own image.

- Giving a fairer representation of a community whose perception has been continuously tarnished by the traditional media.

- To change the vision that the majority of the French population has of Roma people.
