Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
The project was the first in Pomurje region, and in Slovenia, that dealt with the health status of the Roma minority, especially with the fact that it is not on the same level as the rest of the population. The aim of the project is to decrease these gaps in health status as well as social exclusion within the Roma population due to health issues. Trough implemented activities we successfully performed a research of healthcare connected lifestyle and the perception of health, based on which we created a strategic document for decreasing the gap between the health status of the Roma and the general population. We introduced an innovative approach of promoting healthy lifestyle in the field. Concrete results of the project are the document on Roma lifestyles, establishing the network of Roma coordinators, who were motivated to continue their work in the area of improving Roma health status.
Results of the project

Target population were the adult members of Roma minority, Roma families, local Roma coordinators, and entire Pomurje region trough media activity.
