Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
From the reports written during the project, they found out that the project had contributed to the school climate improvement at the Bršljin elementary school. Therefore, our principal goal was to research how students and teachers perceive the class climate and what kind of climate they would like to have in the future. We presumed that students' and teachers' perceptions of the existent class climate are not in accordance with the climate they would like to have. We researched the perceptions and wishes of the Roma students and the non-Roma students in order to find out the differences according to ethnic origin and status - if there are significant differences in the perceptions between students and teachers. The results show that the existent class climate is not in accordance with the desired climate. They also show that the differences between the existent and the desired class climate are significant, which means that the class climate is not suitable and stimulative. Individuals' wishes are too ambitious according to the current state and individuals comprehend them as unattainable. They find themselves in a frustrating situation because they are not satisfied with the current state and they do not know how to reach the goals they set. Such class climate does not stimulate motivation for schoolwork and it is not a contributing factor in improving the quality of the educational process (right there). Statistically significant differences in the perception of the class climate appeared only in few cases. We found a statistically significant difference in the existent and the desired class climate between students and teachers. It means that the current state is not in accordance with the desired state. They perceive the class climate relatively good, but 5 of them would like to improve interpersonal relationships, satisfaction and connectedness in their classroom.

Results of the project
We found a statistically significant difference in the existent and the desired class climate between students and teachers. It means that the current state is not in accordance with the desired state. They perceive the class climate relatively good, but 5 of them would like to improve interpersonal relationships, satisfaction and connectedness in their classroom. We got the same results when we compared the existent and the desired class climate separately – between students only and teachers only. The differences in their perceptions of the class climate according to ethnic origin are not statistically significant. We found statistically significant differences in the perception of the desired class climate according to the status, in the category of interpersonal relationships. Teachers express slightly different wishes for the class climate in the future – they wish more satisfaction and connectedness than students do. And teachers are important factors, who create the class climate and can contribute to improvement of it with their manners of working. The results show that the Roma students and the non-Roma students perceive the current state in the classroom very similarly and they have similar wishes for the class climate.

Who will benefit from this project (target group)
The project included teachers, school's professional staff, teachers' assembly, parents' councill, as well as the pupils and representatives of different institutions. The project as a whole will hopefully provide information, useful for the entire Slovenian school system.
