Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
Since April 2009, the Centre for Research of Ethnicity and Culture, in partnership with the Foundation MSF, has implemented the project 'Integration of the children of third-country nationals into the educational system'. The project builds on positive policies, implemented in the field of education and integrating the children of third country nationals and is enriched by innovative methods to ensure their successful integration into the society.

Results of the project
The benefits of the project include:
1. Research of the barriers of integration for these children into the education system;
2. The creation and experimental testing of innovative integration tools;
3. Opening a public debate on the problems of migrant children;
4. Opening a public debate on the need for changes in educational policies.

Who will benefit from this project (target group)
Aims of the project:
- a set of recommendations for education policy and integration tools aimed at educational practice,
- the findings of the project can help public policy makers to modify legislation to ensure the effective integration of the children of third country nationals,
- teachers should provide guidance on techniques and activities directly applicable in teaching the integration of these children in the class, school and local community,
- using participatory research methodology and the application of acquired knowledge in practice,
- the project has the ambition to positively influence the integration of the children of third country nationals into the mainstream environment.
