Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
Provide children with access to mainstream schools out of the Roma neighborhood.
Creation of conditions for Equal Integration of the Roma children from Kyustendil in the social, economic and political life of the country in the future.
Promotion of joint participation of children, parents and teachers in intercultural activities, forming tolerance and saving the cultural identity of the children.
Equalization of the educational opportunities for the children from "Iztok" district, expansion of their social horizon and improvement of their perspectives through removal.
Ensure the participation of Roma children in different informal trainings in the principle of games, creation of skills, becomes well acquainted with the nature, visits of different cultural places etc.
Results of the project
287 Roma students enrolled in and attending 6 mainstream schools in the town of Kyustendil.
Decreased drop out rate.
Increased academic performance.
Institutionalized partnership between the Municipality and the Centre for regional development ROMA through signing a memorandum of understanding.
