Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
The project was realized in cooperation with ESP (Education Support programme) and RPP (Roma Participation Programme), which includes the Open Society Institute. In 2005, OSI launched the Equal Access to Quality Education for the Roma, which builds on previous reports focused on the respect for minority rights. The output of the project will be the publication that will include reports for each country participating in the Decade of Roma Inclusion.

The project focused primarily on:
1. Existing government policies aimed at the education of Roma children,
2. The provision of data on the basic indicators of education,
3. Framework for further monitoring implementation of the objectives of the Decade of Roma Inclusion.

Results of the project
Elena Gallo-Kriglerová worked on this project as a specialist on Roma education and three chapters worked for the administration in Slovakia, focusing on:
1. The education system in Slovakia (structure, funding, legislation)
2. Government policies on the education of Roma children,
3. Obstacles and barriers to the access to education.

Who will benefit from this project (target group)
All relevant stakeholders for the education of Roma children.
