Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
The aim of the project was the digitization of archival material stored in the Roma Historical Institute which operates at the Association of Roma in Poland, and the creation of an electronic inventory, enabling fast browsing through the Archive content resources.
In formulating the recommendations for the implementation of this task, we were guided by the following reasons:,
- valuable historical archive materials, their usefulness for research work and the probative value of the materials;
- the unique nature of archives;
- time of the task and the possibility of implementing, due to the size of funds.

Results of the project
The first digitized materials stored in the Archive Section III, about the victims of the Holocaust.
In 2009, the tasks related to the digitization of successive archive divisions were carried out. The materials of Chapter XIII, concerning the press materials, were transferred to digital form first.
Then Department XII was digitized - Varia- mainly due to the advantages of a large collection of documentary photographs.

Who will benefit from this project (target group)
Romani Historical Archives Institute is situated at the headquarters of the Association of Roma in Poland, in Auschwitz. Its resources are made available to all interested parties. Students, pupils, journalists, and scientists benefit from the archives.
Conducting digitization has allowed the use of the accumulated collections without having to worry about their damage, as well as it improved the quality of services provided by Romani Historical Institute.

Sources of funding
The project was realized thanks to the funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Digitization in the programme document library, archives and museum exhibits.
