Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
Support to formal and non-formal education means for disadvantaged children and youth of targeted community. The activities under this component aim at reducing the vulnerability of children and youth living at Bregu i Lumit by increasing their enrolment in the public/private education system, through field assessment, preparatory/literacy and integrated classes and recreational activities.

Service delivery to the targeted community to provide care and protection for children The activities aim to assist the disadvantaged community of Bregu i Lumit, children in particular, with counseling, health care, food and administrative assistance. Community empowerment will be achieved through education, job placement and setting up of income generating activities for parents.

Coordinated actions among stakeholders on child protection issues The activities will address the need for better coordination among government institutions and civil society on child care in disadvantaged communities. Two workshops will be organized, involving all stakeholders.

Results of the project
Assessment on literacy needs among children in Bregu i Lumit carried out and recommendations on how to increase access to education elaborated and shared with local stakeholders. 120 children of Bregu i Lumit Community assisted with literacy classes and able to read and write. 60 children of Bregu i Lumit Community with learning difficulties attend the school regularly and follow the school curricula. 100 children of Bregu i Lumit Community actively engaged in recreational activities. 30 children in risk and respective families in Bregu i Lumit assisted with counselling services. 200 children and families in Bregu i Lumit enjoy good health due to medical support by the project. 160 children Bregu i Lumit Community assisted with food at EDEN centre. 30 families of Bregu i Lumit assisted with administrative support and able to access public services. 20 young parents of children in risk from poor families of Bregu i Lumit Community trained on various vocational courses and able to find a job. 5 disadvantaged families in Bregu i Lumit Community successfully run income generating activities through project financial and mentoring support
