Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
In our program,students help the chidren together with „buddies” from Bag and the BAGázs as well as with the parents. We advertise the program in schools and in the settlement, we organise a training for the „buddies” and the students and we hold parents’ meetings. Every two weeks, we have discussions with the volunteers that we document (writing, photo, video). We organise a conference to make our program visible to locals.
We cooperate with the local school,the childrens welfare service to follow the improvement of the participants and with Demokratikus Ifjúságért Alapítvány to guarantee the professionalism of our work. As the result of our project,the childrens school performance will improve, the parents will experience how they can help their children,the local prejudices will be reduced as well as the social sensitivity of secondary school students will become stronger.
Results of the project
The long-term goal of our project is to reduce the prejudices againts Roma children in school.Our short-term goal is to improve their rule-following attitude, their school performance,to involve the undereducated parents in the activities,to show them methods so they can develop their childrens comptences at home and also to reinforce the secondary school stundents social responsibility.
Who will benefit from this project (target group)
The target groups are the following: children,their parents and young people who live in the settlement of Bag, local institutions,secondary school students and volunteers of the BAGázs.
