Summary (goals and purposes of the project)
Less than 10% of the Roma children in Sofia are enrolled in Kindergarten and pre-school. To increase the enrolment and the attendance rate for the Roma children in Sofia in the preschool education years, facilitating their enrolment in kinder gardens and primary schools, which provides education to preschool groups. Establishment of relationships and agreement with the Sofia Municipality program (ISKG) and to assist the Roma families with internet registration. To establish relationships with the primary schools, popularize their profiles within the Roma settlements and facilitate the access of Roma children to the pre-school groups. To organize summer campaign in the Roma neighbourhoods and release information for the compulsory pre-school education. To list Roma children, age 5 and 6 and to facilitate their enrolment in the pre-school groups in schools and kinder gardens, providing the necessary support for the collection of the documents required. Results of the project
365 children registered in the system. 180 children enrolled in kindergarten. 120 childen supported with school materials.
