RIC Novo mesto has been engaged in the activities for better Roma inclusion for many years. We are working closely with a variety of experts, organizations and municipalities in the region. Moreover, the Roma from the local environment are not only included in our activities as participants but also as our colleagues, co-workers and partners. Because of the importance of cross-sectoral and regional cooperation in the field of Roma integration, RIC Novo mesto hosted the experts, on 16th April, from municipalities, schools, labour offices, prisons, social work centres, libraries, NGOs, adult education organisations, and we invited also the representative of the Roma community.

 

We carried out the event by the method of world café. In the beginning, the project coordinators presented four RIC's current projects, two Grundtvig Multilateral projects, FINALLY - Financial literacy for Roma and e-RR (e-Roma Resource). Then they presented the project Daphne, Early marriage - culture or abuse? and the project of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism SORO (Cooperation for the health of the Roma). In addition to the world café event, all the participants searched and discussed the opportunities for concrete cooperation and the activities that will increase and influence the processes of integration of the Roma population.

 

The event was a very valuable contribution to the e-RR project. We had the opportunity to present the e-RR platform and demonstrate the applicability of the platform in their daily work. As feedback information, they provided us the concrete needs of their organisations. By the end of our creative debates with beneficiaries, we outlined and determined some concrete exploitation activities.
