Govermental Organization
In Europe there are several governmental organizations whose work is focused on improving the situation of the Roma population.
Council of Europe is an international organisation promoting co-operation between European countries. Therefore, membership is open to all European states which seek European integration, accept the principle of the rule of law and are able and willing to guarantee democracy, fundamental human rights and freedoms.
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is one of the EU’s decentralised agencies.
The Decade of Roma Inclusion is an international initiative combining the governments of participating countries, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations as well as the Roma civil society with the aim of combating Roma exclusion, poverty and discrimination inside regions.
OSCE is an international organization for security. It addresses a wide range of security-related concerns, including arms control, confidence- and security-building measures, human rights, national minorities, democratization, policing strategies, counter-terrorism and economic and environmental activities.
